African Padauk Characteristics: Padauk is an exotic and imported hardwood with both a strip and a mottled effect. An eye-catching wood, the color varies from a rich crimson or brick red to reddish-purple streaks to bright orange. It darkens over time to dark reddish-brown. The interlocked grain produces the striped figure on quartered surfaces. The texture is medium to coarse. The tree is native to Central and tropical West Africa.
There are no stains or dyes, but rather only a protective finish to enhance the natural wood color.
The metal portion of the stopper is FDA kitchen-grade stainless steel, which is very resistant to corrosion. The 3 O-rings will allow a snug fit in various bottle sizes, and the small profile draws the viewer to the handcrafted work instead of the metal part of the stopper. The stopper is sold with a gift and storage box.
To clean a bottle stopper, please use a damp cloth. Do not put this or any other art in your dishwasher!
